Bralette Shop List

This list is neither exhaustive nor complete; it includes shops that may be able to cater to size ranges bigger than your typical 32-38 A-D range. However, I have not personally reviewed or tried all of these shops and I advise to communicate with shop owners before making a purchase, as I cannot guarantee the quality of the service or the product, or that they will be able to effectively cater to your size. The goal of this list is mainly to spare you hours of browsing the web just to stumble upon the same S-M-L A-C bralettes that clearly will never fit or support your breasts. Most of these are Etsy shops, but some of them are either independently hosted or on other marketplaces.

I will only list shops that carry a reasonable choice of unlined & wireless bras, though some shops carrying wired bras may be included. Some shops have been included specifically because they give accurate sizing advice, others because they offer cup sizes above D.

I was not paid for & did not receive any kind of incentive to put any specific names on this list. If you’ve had a negative experience with one of those shops, please tell me as soon as possible and I will take them off this list; if you have had a good experience, I encourage you to post about it in the comments bellow.

Legend:

Size Catering
Green title
= most generous sizes, very likely to be reliable for custom sizing if available;
Yellow title = averagely generous sizes, quite likely to be reliable for custom sizing if available;
Orange title = restricted sizes, not so likely to be reliable for custom sizes if available.

Price* Range (USD)
$ = under or equal to $50.
$$ = above $50 but under or equal to $75.
$$$ = above $75 but under or equal to $100.
$$$$ = above $100.
* Price before tax & shipping for a single bra, or for a bra + panty set if only sold as a set; most expensive bra available.

A brand will be qualified as plus-size friendly if they offer more than one band size equal to or above 38, regardless of cup size, in their standard sizes; they may offer plus-size in custom sizing even if they are not labelled as plus-size friendly.

The bra cup & band design mentioned are the most common designs; if more than one design is mentioned, all of the designs are about equally common.

  • Cup types:
    • Cups with only one part, with or without darts, are very likely to be shallow and less suited for bigger cup sizes;
    • Cups with more than 1 part may run shallow or deep, it’s not possible to tell just by that criteria how they will fit.
  • Band types:
    • Longline bands (more than 1″/2.5cm long) are the most supportive but may ride up, especially on plus-size people;
    • Midline bands (around or slightly less than 1″/2.5cm long) are a good compromise for plus-size ladies, they are more supportive than smaller bands;
    • Regular bands (less than 1″/2.5cm) provide the least support as they are very thin;
    • Full bands go fully around the ribcage and pass under the cups, they are also more supportive in general;
    • Partial bands do not pass under the cups and are usually attached to the cups on either side, they tend to be less supportive and may be very thin; some full bands have been marked as partial because they are extremely thin and not very likely to provide a lot of support.

The list will be divided in 2 parts: bras that come in regular bra sizes & bras that come in S-M-L types of sizes (a shop will be included in the former as soon as some of their bras come in regular sizes and it will be included in the latter if regular bra sizes are only available through custom sizing). The bra sizes used will be UK sizes only as they are the most common ones, so don’t be surprised if the sizes you see described here aren’t the same choices you see on the shop’s listings. Shops will be sorted in alphabetical order. Any existing reviews for the brand that are found outside of the shop itself and that I consider pertinent will be linked, including my own reviews if I have made one.

If you are looking for specific characteristics, I recommend using the CTRL + F (“search”) command with words like “Plus-size friendly: Yes” or “Custom sizing: Yes”.

Bralettes in Regular Bra Sizes

Barbe Rose – $$
Website
Country: Canada (Quebec) and Singapore
Size range: 30 A-B, 32-34 A-D, 36-38 A-DD
Plus-size friendly: No
Custom sizing: Yes
Accurate fitting advice: No, overestimates band sizes.
Cup design: 1-part, 2-part or 3-part cups.
Band design: Full regular or longline band.
Other notes: I personally contacted the owner about having a bralette in 30E or F. They did not feel confident enough to make me this size because they are not used to work with big cup/small band combos; their cups may also not be too appropriate for bigger breasts because their cups don’t seem very deep. When told about my 28″ underbust measurement, they suggested I take a 34 band size, which is very inaccurate. They have however told me that they successfully made a 42DD for another customer and will probably be confident making sizes slightly above this.

Dreams and Underthings – $
Website
Country: United States (Missouri)
Size range: 26 D-G, 28 C-H, 30 B-GG, 32 B-G, 34 B-FF, 36 B-F, 38 B-E, 40 B-JJ
Plus-size friendly: Yes
Custom sizing: Yes
Accurate fitting advice: Yes
Cup design: 2-part cups.
Band design: Full midline band.
Other notes: Shop maintained by senior A Bra That Fits contributor, fit expert & blogger of Dreams and Underthings. Really helpful and willing to work to make you the perfect bra! Purchase pending.

Fortnight Lingerie – $$$$
Website
Country: Canada (Toronto)
Size range: 30 B-F, 32 A-F, 34 A-E, 36 B-DD
Plus-size friendly: No
Custom sizing: No
Accurate fitting advice: Yes
Cup design: 2-part cups.
Band design: Full regular or longline band.
Other notes: The cups generally run small & the bands run true to size or firm depending on if they have powermesh in the band or not and how much of it. It is recommended to size up both in cup & band in the Luna Longline model, but the Vega Longline runs true to size in the band, only sizing up in the cup is required.

Impish Lee – $$$$
Website
Country: United States (New York)
Size range: 30-40 A-GG
Plus-size friendly: Yes
Custom sizing: Yes (see other notes)
Accurate fitting advice: Yes (accurate calculator too, uses the same measurements as this one)
Cup design: 2-part cups for bralettes, 1-part with dart or 3-part cups for bras.
Band design: Full longline or midline band.
Other notes: This brand allows you to choose colours, fabrics, designs and details to make a 100% custom bra or bralette with a matching panty or clothing item in the size of your choice. However, due to the custom nature of the garments, they only accept returns for store credit. I cannot vouch for them as I haven’t seen any reviews yet, but the concept seems promising. They may or may not be able to do custom sizes outside of the range they advertise.

Luvahuva – $$-$$$
Website
Country: United Kingdom
Size range: 30-40 A-E
Plus-size friendly: Yes
Custom sizing: Yes
Accurate fitting advice: Unknown
Cup design: 2-part cups.
Band design: Full regular band or partial band.
Other notes: Vary greatly in size and materials. Band sizes come in ranges (like “30-32” or “34-36″); it might be better to ask for a specific band size if you would rather have a firmer band/support or fall in-between the size ranges (like a 33” underbust if the two choices are “30-32” or “34-36”). It is possible that the owner chooses a band size arbitrarily and that the “30-32” indications would actually yield a 34 band size; if you choose to order, I strongly recommend that you inquire with the owner for more information on band sizes.

Uye Surana – $$-$$$
Website
Country: United States (New York)
Size range: 28 B-F, 30-34 A-F, 36 A-E, 38 A-DD
Plus size friendly: No
Custom sizing: Yes
Accurate fitting advice: Yes
Cup design: 1-part cups with darts or 2-part cups.
Band design: Full wrap-around, midline or regular band.
Other notes: This is a Kickstarter company using high-quality materials and finish. They do custom sizes up to UK J as far as I know, and can do smaller and bigger bands (reported down to 26 and up to 42). Their designs are intricate and definitely on the sexier side. Their straps are generally close-set, which may help people with tiny frames who struggle with straps falling off even at the right size.

Bralettes in Standard Clothing Sizes

Mojo Lingerie – $$
Website
Country: United Kingdom
Size range: XXS-4XL
Plus-size friendly: Yes
Custom sizing: Yes
Accurate fitting advice: Unknown
Cup design: 2-part cups.
Band design: Full band, various widths.
Other notes: Claims to be able to make any band size from AA to HH and offers reinforcing of the cups for better/firmer support.

Neonmoon – $$$$
Website
Country: United Kingdom
Size range: XS-XXL; labelled Lovely, Gorgeous, Beautiful, Fabulous, Stunning; currently working towards increasing size range.
Plus-size friendly: Yes
Custom sizing: No (please see other notes)
Accurate fitting advice: Yes
Cup design: Bandeau, 2-part cups.
Band design: Full regular band, bandeau band.
Other notes: Labels themselves as a “feminist” lingerie brand; the clothes are made with highly flexible but sturdy materials that offer great band support in models with the largest bands, however cups tend to be only modestly supportive. Actual size range is unknown, but people have reported comfortable fit up to H cup sizes & the bands are made quite snug; I highly recommend inquiring about band sizes before ordering. I have personally two Tactac bras in size Gorgeous and they fit me perfectly at 30E/F with a 28″ underbust.
